Last week, I attended an event in Hamilton called Tweetstock: Those Who Tell Stories Rule The World and I learned more nuggets about the art of telling our stories in today’s technological times.
What all speakers shared on stage was the VALUE of everyone’s story. Whether you are a business owner or an employee, what sets you apart are the things you stand for, the problems you want to solve and the result of what happened in finding the solution are part of your unique marketing message.
Every business large or small is different in some way, even businesses that provide the exact same service or product are different. The entrepreneur who runs them is unique and this is the story your audience is waiting for. It is easy to get caught up with the mechanics of your message such as who your audience is and how to communicate it, but the first critical step is in knowing Who you are and what your own personal marketing message is truly about.
This messaging revolves around these predominant things about YOU:

- Your Values
- Your Passions
- Your Purpose
- Your Vision
People love to buy from people, not businesses. If you are not sharing what makes you unique with your audience, you are not setting yourself apart and you are missing out! Especially with your website, blog, newsletter and social media channels.
People are looking for REAL brands, especially with online marketing channels. People do not care for your marketing strategies, but if you can engage them by telling a compelling story you will get their attention.
The best salespeople and leaders tend to be more inspiring when they can share a story that engages others. This is even more critical when you are looking for career advancement as people don’t like being told what to do, they rather be inspired or taught to think for themselves.
Knowing those points above creates your story and is your personal marketing message which allows you to stand out from the crowd and truly resonate with your audience.
You know how everyone is stressed out and not living the life they want? You know how everyone is looking for better health and well-being these days because they are recognizing the importance for it?
Well, my story revolves around this mission to help people navigate through a minefield of information to get results, have more time to themselves, connect them back to what matters, help them gain clarity, leverage their time and create a map to get there.
THIS excites me.
This story is what motivates me every morning and what I truly would fight for. Nothing makes me feel more on purpose then seeing them be comfortable in their own skin and be truly free.
